Watching me compete in a triathlon wasn’t the only reason mom and dad were in CO last week – for their “vacation”, they agreed to come help Kyle & I tile our kitchen floor (I know, that doesn’t sound like much of a vacation). It was my suggestion, so I’ll take all of the blame for dad’s sore knees and back, but Kyle and I really wanted to learn how to tile and who better to teach us than the expert. I will admit, it was a bigger, tougher project than we had imagined it would be (putting down the cement backerboard was a real pain), but we all worked hard to get it done and it looks just beautiful. Dad is probably still on pain pills, mom is likely having nightmares about sponges flying at her head and my blisters haven’t healed from grouting yet, but I’m sure we’ll all forget the pain any day now! Seriously, though, I want to give a great big thank you to my parents for helping us with this project during their visit– we could not have done it without them and as hard as it was, we really enjoyed working on it together. Also, we'd like to give a big thank you to Ron & Michele Gorr, K, & Chad for donating their tools to us.

This blog is long overdue, so we apologize for the tardiness. Kyle and I ran the Bolder Boulder 10K again this year (this is now our 3rd year running it). You never know what kind of weather you might get in late May in CO (the race is always held on Memorial Day), but it was perfect this year - sunny & cool. This year there were over 50,000 runners, the biggest Bolder Boulder ever. Read More
