In Memorium: Shasta

Our friends Brian and Cara sadly had to put their dog, Shasta, to sleep today. Shasta was a dog with a big heart and an even bigger tail wag.  Kelly & I had often dog sat Shasta and he took full advantage of sleeping on our coach, bed and any other soft surface in the house.  We loved having Shasta over our house as did Bronco & Izzy.  Shasta was Bronco's first dog friend and if wasn't for those 2 dogs we would never have met Brian and Cara.

Playa Hermosa

Kelly has finally finished her travels and we can start having some fun in this country we moved to!  For 4th of July weekend Kelly found an awesome bungalow almost right on the beach that is also pet friendly.  We arrived at the beach house in the dark in the middle of a rain storm and somehow didn't get lost.  The place is beautiful and a surfers paradise with black sand beaches and warm water.  Here is a quick pick of the dogs' first visit to the ocean:

Mountain swimming

This past weekend it was unbearably hot in Denver, so we headed up to the mountains to cool off a bit. I'd say the dogs stayed the coolest, as they got to go swimming both days (Izzy was in heaven, Bronco was just happy to wet his feet and get a nice cool drink). On Saturday we hiked to Lily Pad Lake, which is only a 2 mile hike from our front door. On Sunday we headed to Lake Dillon for a quick dip before we headed back home to the heat. See all of the pics from our weekend here.
