Hello all - Kyle and I went to Puerto Viejo for the long holiday weekend with our friends Andrea and Julio. Puerto Viejo is on the Carribean side of Costa Rica (the eastern coast). It is much less developed than the west coast - no big fancy hotels here. It is what everyone here likes to call "rustic" - which is not necessarily for everyone (if you like the perfect bed and a fancy bathroom, this is not the place for you!). We rented a house that we found on VRBO (man I love that site) - it was right on the beach, as you can see from the photos, with an enormous yard. The coconuts we are drinking in the pictures came from a tree in our yard! And there were plenty of lizards for the dogs to chase. The house was very simple (we will most certainly find a place with air conditioning next time because it is HOT), but it was big enough for the four of us and incredibly affordable considering the location. Not to mention, we practically had the beach to ourselves - you can see from the pictures that we did not have many neighbors. Izzy as you know is a big fan of the water, and on this trip she was really able to practice her ocean swimming because the water was very calm. Bronco, well, he still hates water, even when it is the perfect temparature. Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend! Kelly & Kyle

I can't believe it's football season already. Kyle and I were busy with the kitchen cabinet painting that we missed our live Fantasy Football draft, so unfortunately, our teams don't look all that good this year. Lucky for us, we still have Chad's pick em league, so there's still hope for making a few bucks this football season.
I must say though, I'm still basking in the glory of having won the Super Bowl last year. Most of you probably know this, but Kyle & I went to the AFC Championship game that was in Denver last year. We could have bought a new computer instead, but it was worth it! See our pictures here.
We braved Denver public transportation to get to the game, and crashed a Steeler tailgate beforehand. I really was quite confident that we'd win, and we weren't disappointed. As you all know, we won quite easily, and I quickly learned that if I wanted the Steelers to score or cause a turnover, all I to do was head for the bathroom. Yes, I missed quite a few exciting plays, but it's bound to happen.
After the game, we celebrated at a bar inside of the stadium, mostly because we were afraid to get back on the train too quickly with so many disgruntled fans. About an hour and a half later we decided to leave and wouldn't you know it, the Steeler players were coming out of the bus tunnel at the same time to appease their fans, so I got to see some of my Steelers, including Big Ben. It was quite a day, one I'll never forget!

Hi everyone,
Sorry for not blogging in quite some time. We are making up for our absense with a spiffy new website design and also the start of posting new and old photos.
The first batch of pics we have uploaded is our "fun" weekend of painting our kitchen cabinets. We worked till midnight for many nites and were exhausted from sanding, priming and painting, but the end result is incredible. Amazing what less than $200 and some elbow grease will do to your kitchen. You can find the pictures here.
I hope you like the new website design as well. I fully expect that I will be updating the look of this site every 6 - 9 months. I just get bored.
