Last Thursday, Kyle & I closed on a 1-bedroom, 2-bath condo in the mountains (its in the Wildernest area just northwest of Silverthorne). We can thank the ever increasing traffic on I-70 in helping us to make this decision. We moved in last Thursday and spent all of Friday painting the kitchen (yes, another kitchen project). After a long day of work on Friday, and the snow that we got on Friday night, Kyle & I planned on going snowboarding on Saturday. Before we left, Kyle took the dogs out to whiz and that's when it happened. It's a little hard to explain, but Izzy got her paw stuck in the stairs (the stairs are metal and have gaps to let snow, rain, etc. through) and when Kyle was helping her get unstuck, one of the stair supports cut her pretty badly between two of her toes. Well, the resorts have been open for a while, but Kelly & I finally got ourselves to the mountains to enjoy some snowy goodness. We drove up to Breckenridge bright and early (out the door by 6 AM) with our friend K. Getting out the door early is necessary since traffic on I-70 gets pretty bad on the weekends. A great benefit to leaving so early is that we can stop at the Starbucks in Frisco, relax a bit and enjoy a sweet sweet latte. Read More
